His passion for eyes: Your Eyes! I can see now!
I had two cataract surgeries in 2019, the first was horrific. I awoke to stabbing pains in my eye that persisted intermittently until June when I had the second surgery. I was given at least six different prescriptions, and spent hundreds of dollars on glasses I can’t use. 16 visits to my surgeon later, I was dismissed with “see you next year”: He gave up on me.
I went back to my Optometrist, who photographed my eye and compared my film from last year, (there were no issues) to the new film. Now I had severe scaring on my cornea and she immediately recommended that I see Dr. Gulani – “He was the best and he would know exactly what to do”. The appointment was set before I left her office.
Gulani Vision Institute: Dr. Gulani greets all new patients, each by name with a beautiful smile and a firm handshake, putting you at ease. He is a gregarious, jovial, yet spiritual person, as all procedures begin and end with prayer. His staff adds to the family atmosphere and are gracious and helpful.
Professionally, as you get to know Dr. Gulani, you learn his passion for eyes: Your Eyes! He is exuberant and very thorough with his workup. He is a perfectionist and includes many hours of one on one assessments, measurements and tests on several days to determine exactly what the plan of treatment would be. He tests and retests, right up until surgery, as patients are all different, each of his treatments is custom tailored to our specific needs: the constant is Dr. Gulani.
I had my procedure last Thursday and during surgery, as the layers of scar tissue were painlessly erased by his special Laser from my cornea, it was like coming out of the fog into a crystal clear World! As a Professional Photographer, I cannot tell you how important that was for me! There were no more halos, everything was sharp, crisp and beautiful! My “camera” lens had been repaired! As we “danced” out of the surgical suite, I could clearly see staff at the end of the hallway and my sweet husband cried.
