I just wanted to write down some thoughts about being able to see…
When I first met you, it was because I had a traumatic cataract in my left eye. As I was blind in my right eye due to a recent accident, the thought of going completely blind was terrifying. Your concern, compassion and patience with me and my husband was incredible! You explained the pros and cons of having cataract surgery including the risk I was taking because the retina had already partially detached and had been repaired. You gave us the ability to make an informed decision on a life-changing event. Not only did you remove the cataract, you inserted an intraocular lens that allowed me to see 20/25 without wearing glasses or the need for contacts! I have been wearing corrective lenses for 50 years! It was like my “window on the world” had been cleaned, polished and opened!!
Dr. Gulani very carefully explained the risks and procedure in order for us to make an informed decision. He is the only eye surgeon I would trust working on my eye. His skills and talents are outstanding as is his concern for his patients. Jacksonville is very fortunate to have such a wonderful doctor in its community.
