Pilot Ron O. (Key Colony Beach, FL)
Pilot Ron had suffered from poor vision for a long time. He originally came to Gulani Vision Institute about 5 years ago after having premium cataract surgery with another surgeon. Ron was left with not only poor vision, but also an open bag [making replacing the lens more complicated], astigmatism, farsightedness, keratoconus, and anterior scarring; consequently losing his pilot’s license.
Dr. Gulani explains his approach in tackling this complicated case using his “flying to Paris through Iceland” analogy, paralleling how he used a combination of a piggy-back lens [LenzOplastique] and laser vision surgery [LaZrplastique] to correct Ron’s vision from 20/400 to 20/20.
In coming back to visit Gulani Vision Institute, Ron wanted to interview Dr. Gulani One-on-One so that he might help in inspiring other patients or surgeons that are dealing with complicated cases.
